“If there is a heaven on earth, This is it, this is it, this is it.”

Kashmir, along its breath-taking beauty, has also added silent lives of people, ruined mansions, bullet wounds, barbed wires and armed force patrols in its visual palate. The ongoing conflict in this heavenly place has literally halted life for more than two decades and has muted the common mass. One can sense the strange numbness in them as they fear to talk about their freedom and their lives. It was a very painful experience as I could only faintly relate to them.

My work is a tribute to all Kashmiris, for their happiness, peace and freedom.
